Wasserman and Trava

For several years I painted every day in the studio of Chicago artist Ivan Trava. We stood side by side, sharing palette and canvas. In a month we stopped elbowing each other out of the way. In a year we stopped arguing. We learned that sometimes, a disturbing detail has to go, but other times, it ends up being the best part of the painting.
